The session aims to discuss the new possibilities of pharmaceutical care, created by the introduction of e-prescriptions in Poland

• Presentation of  main expectations of patients and other stakeholders in pharmaceutical care.
• E-prescription shall provide information on prescribed drugs and drugs purchased by patients, which enables:
  • monitoring the dispensation / taking medicines,
  • identification of interactions between prescribed drugs,
  • evaluation of the effectiveness of applied treatment.
• E-prescription may significantly improve the availability of drugs
  • use of less expensive substitutes,
  • delivery of prescribed drugs to patients’ home.
• System and IT support for the implementation of pharmaceutical care:
  • What are the necessary actions of particular stakeholders in order to make use of opportunities regarding e-prescription effectively?
  • How can we implement pharmaceutical care effectively?
